When I graduated high school years ago, I refused to go on to college. I considered it unnecessary and a waste of time, effort, and money. After some years, I caved and attended a vocational school to become a certified dog trainer. I found the subject matter inspiring and the courses I took in animal behavior certainly stoked my passion for pets. I have always surrounded myself with a family of pets and can't imagine a life without them. However, I had become quite comfortable as an accounting clerk in the office jobs I'd been working. It's hard to take that big step and start down a new career path. I found it easier to continue down the road I'd been on rather than start my own dog training business or take a pay cut working for a corporate pet store. Animals remain my passion. I have lived with, cared for, and trained many. I continue to volunteer my knowledge and skills to those willing to listen. I believe a well behaved pet should not be a luxury, purchased through expensive classes. My current family includes a lovebird, tarantula, aquarium, two cats, doberman, and a wonderfully tolerant and loving husband.
